Feeding and Nutrition :: Turtle always hungry?

Turtle diets and eating habits discussed here.

It seems as though Tilly is ALWAYS hungry. She is about 6 months old and close to 4 inches. She gets fed reptomin, frozen aquatic turtle diet, and greens every day. However, it seems as though she is always scavenging her tank for things to eat and whenever I get close by she'll start begging for food. Is this normal turtle behavior? Or am I possibly not feeding her enough?

All turtles are hungry all the time. It's their natural instincts to constantly look for food, because in the wild food isn't as common as it is for them in captivity. Don't feed your turtle any more than it already gets, because it isn't necessary.

Try searching threads on here about pyramiding, and sped up growth. Tons of answers in there about what happens when turtles eat too much.
