Feeding and Nutrition :: Turtle not eatting

Ok i have a baby YBS, and normally he eats his regular pellets, lately he hasn't ate, so right now i have him beside me with lettuce near him..any ideas for help?

he might have mouth rot. My turtle who stopped eating his pellets and would only eat soft foods, and it turned out when I took him to vet that he had an infection. I would suggest you take him to the vet.

Does he have any other symptoms? Gasping for air? Lopsided swimming? Coughing/wheezing? These are some of the symptoms for respiratory infection. My turtles had this awful disease and the first symptoms were the loss in appetite.

No he doesn't have any other problems, he just sits there on his floating dock watching me, my mom and the fish lol enjoying his light.
I'd love to take him to the vet but right now we can't afford it =/

You should try different kinds of food. I see you've given him lettuce, that's good. Try offering him canned tuna. There's a pretty good chance that the strong smell will entice him to eat.

and tuna's pretty soft without bones...i think

i wouldn't know much about fish im allergic to it. i wish you the best

It is pretty soft. Or another idea is to soak the pellets in tuna water and then feed them. Good luck.
