Feeding and Nutrition :: Yay, Niko seems to be feeling better !

Turtle diets and eating habits discussed here.

Post Posted: Fri Oct 16, 2009 2:45 pm   Yay, Niko seems to be feeling better !

The past four to five days Niko didnt seem to interested in food and ate maybe a total of two reptomin and three Mazorui pellets because he/she was shedding but today Niko finally gobbled up some food. Niko did the same thing last year during shed time so I wasn't to concerned which is why I didnt post a help me topic. I havent posted in a while in regards to Niko so I figured I'd share some of my happy news today. I figured since he/she didn't eat much the past few days I'd try and give a few extra Mazouri pellets today (seven instead of the usual five per day when Mazorui is fed) but when I tossed em in the tank Niko was like a shark on chum day ;-p

Me to ;-)

One thing Niko started doin about four months ago that I never mentioned that's pretty cool is he/she will take food from my hand. I havent tried to often so Nikos kinda shyed away from doing it but now that I know he/she will I'm gonna try to do it more often so Niko gets use to my scent and doesnt dart away as much like he/she does now when I get close to the tank. Like right now if Nikos basking and I get close he/she will FLY off the basking platform into the water... kinda funny to watch actually.

Edit: I also need to get some new pics of Niko for the site... the only pic I have up is my avatar from when I first got Niko.

Heh, ya Nikos bein a champ... I need to get some new length and weight figures into Nikos excel sheet which I've used to track growth since I first got him/her.

Edit: Come to think of it, I've had Niko almost / just over a year now heh.

No need for you, but it is nice to be able to keep track of your pets growth for various reasons even if you do it just to do it.
