You can try. But I'll bet they won't eat the veggies. Not until they're much older. But there are cases when a baby enjoys veggies.

I would suggest you offer vegetables as early as possible. I first introduced veggies when Charlie was about 2 months old and he finally started to eat lettuce about a month after. So you might want to try with the lettuce because, from what I've heard, little turtles tend to eat it instead any other vegetable. The 2 year old turtle that I just rescued has never seen any kind of vegetable until now so I'm trying hard to get her used to eating them...no luck after a month of trying.

Bottom line: yes you should feed vegetables. Start with lettuce, small bits of carrots, blueberries, grapes (these are the foods that mine seems to like the best).

I give mine little chopped bits of zucchini, he has no problems eating them because they float, and they're pellet shaped so he just thinks they're like pellets. Another way to get them to eat veggies is to make jello shots or frozen hunks of veggies. There's a recipe at the top of the forum.

If you don't have it already, get some aquatic plants. They make the tank look nicer, and most turtles love it (and in my opinion it's the best veggie alternative). Enjoy it while you can! I wish I could have some plants in my tank, but they'll get eaten as soon as put in the water.
