Is it ok to trick my hatchling RES, to eat dandelion by putting a fish flake on top of it? I've been putting a lot of dandelion leaves in the tank so that it eats them and won't get pyramiding/kidney problems and for variety. The only two ways my RES will eat them is if I do that or repeatedly annoy it using dandelion leaves, and I prefer my first method. It will not eat these voluntarily (definitely not a GI problem though, since it ravenously attacks the ReptoMin pellets I throw in there).

You can try, though I would also try a veggie clip and some aquatic plants.

introducing plants is a great way to start your turtle on veggies.

i filled my turtles fish tank with many bunches of amazon swords, and within a couple months (he was very small when i got him) well. it didnt end so well for the plants.
