i am currently adding and looking for great both feeder and decorative plants for my turtle habitat.
they like hiding under lilies and snacking on anacharis but would really like to add and change it up from time to time.
on this website i know there is a great deal of information regarding aquatic plants but apparently there are different types and not so many people know the scientific names.
i want to post this thread for aquatic plants that RES can safely snack on. both common and scientic names (easier to find in nursery's and aqua centers)
i will start.
i believe this will be a huge help in determining which kind/types species of the "same" plant will be best for our RES
what influenced me to start this was when i went to diff stores to get aquatic plants i named off the RES site. i was asked with "what kind"? and i had no clue
THIS WEBSITE FOR RES IS AMAZING & PERFECT! yet when asked to retailers, they always ask for specif names. (in my case anyhow)this is just a side thread in our forum hoping it will be helpful. as i know we all want whats best for our turtles.
PLEASE LIST ONLY PLANTS POSITIVELY KNOWN TO BE HEALTH BENEFICIAL TO RES
Anacharis- Elodea
Duckweed- Lemna minor
Yellow water lily- Nymphaea mexicana
