Feeding and Nutrition :: seperate feeding areas??

Turtle diets and eating habits discussed here.

i've noticed that when i feed crush and squirt, crush (my larger turtle who's about 4 1/2 in.) beats squirt out for most of the pellets. i tried holding crush while i feed squirt, but the problem is he's so shy that he was hiding in the cave the whole time. so what i want to know is has anyone else had the problem (i'm sure many of you have) and what's the best way to make sure they both are getting the right amount of food they need?

i was thinking of maybe setting up a separate smaller feeding tank for one of them, but if i did which one should i put in there? crush, the pig that’ll eat anything? or my shy little squirt who might just want a space all to his own? do you think squirt would eat better in his tank that he calls home? or in a special place just for him?

any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Remove the go getter from the tank while feeding your shy one. Introducing him to an entirely new habitat for eating will just further stress him. If you don't want to have to worry about feeding out of the tank, you don't have to feed Crush in a separate container, just find someplace safe for him to hang out while Squirt eats.
