I am not familiar with the product in the first link, and have not used the second. A fair number of people, however, do seem to be using Repti-Glo's.

You don't want to go for the cheapest or least known (least proven) with UVB lights. Hopefully someone who has a Repti-Glo will respond.

I have the 13watt version of this bulb (Repti Glo 5.0) which I picked up by accident. It seems to be OK, perhaps a bit underpowered. I think its good for the summer months when I take my turtles outside regularly but I will not use this during the colder months. If your turtles never get natural, unfiltered sunlight, then I would consider something stronger.

I think there are several on here who use the Repti Glo 5.0 and are happy with them. You can put that bulb fairly close to the basking platform, within 8" to 10".

I use that and Serra really likes it. I placed it very close to Serra's basking spot and she basks a lot. She never had any eye problems, either.
