Are they going to be able to run the tests as soon as they get it? I can't wait to see the results too. Thanks again to you guys for donating your bulbs and to SpotsMama for shipping them all out! :)

Yes, she'll run the tests immediately. She can get results from the three used bulbs quickly but it will take longer with the two new bulbs as she'll need to go through a whole burn-in cycle with them. It will take weeks.

By the way, for our forum people in other parts of the world, some bulbs from Italy are also being tested, so there will be results on both the American version and the European version of the bulbs.

Darn it, I wish that I would have known about this before I purchased one. And I just had the pet store order me one and haven't even picked it up yet.....

Does anyone have any recommendations on how I would add some heigth to my hood lamp? It runs across the length of my tank and it's 125 gallons.....lowering the basking area really isn't ideal since it's made out of pvp pipe.

Any advice is appreciated :D

Are you using a Reptisun tube flourescent? I think the concern is more with some brands of compact flourescents, not tubes. How far away is the light from the basking area now?

I am using the reptisun 5.0 from Zoo med and I believe that that's the one. I was already reading the sticky. And yes, I use the tube light b/c I replaced the bulb that runs across my tank and got a 36" uvb bulb for the 1/2 that's over her basking area. My light is about 8" above her basking area.
