It depends on your size tank. What size tank do you have?

The words "cheapest" and "best" should never be in the same sentence.:)

If you mean "what's the best filter i can get on a budget?" then i can suggest a penn plaxx cascade sized accordingly to your tank.

Jebo is pretty decent for the price. www.shopjebo.com
It's a Eheim knock off.
1 Mississippi Map Turtle 3.25'' (Landslide)
1 Ouachita Map Turtle 4.0'' (Hurricane)
The rest of the turtles have been adopted to good homes. :)

dan-fu - The best but the cheapest? Somehow the two don't go together. Before anyone can attempt to answer your question you will have to tell how large your tank is and how clean you want to keep it. The volume of the filter must pump at least five times the gph you have in the tank. Your tank should be at least 10 gallons per inch of you turtle or turtles. I would buy the best because my time is expensive and every lost hour taking care of a tank because of a filter that was not working well is a high price for me.

Filters are the one thing you do NOT want to skimp on. Also don't get the Penn-Plax Cascade canister filters, SO. MUCH. BYPASS.
