This past Saturday I was cleaning my tank as usual, as I do every month, but when I started to suck water with the python out of my tank, the water wouldn't suction out without me having the faucet on. Even then the water came out of the tank so slowly. I've had this python for 2 years maybe. I had one before it that also broke.

I unscrewed the end that connects to the faucet to see if there was a block. Everything was fine. I did the same with every section on the python and it's all normal. It's never done this before. What could make is lose suction like this? And how do I fix it?

Maybe there was a kink in the tubing? Are you using the same faucet/sink?

kink in the tubing as steve mentioned, blockage in the tubing or something stuck in the faucet connector... the part that you open for suction.

Not sure how your python broke... they do sell replacement parts for every piece of the thing.

I checked the tubing and everything was ok. No kinks or anything.
I opened everything on the tubes to make sure there was no blockage. Nothing..
Same sink...

The only thing that is different is that I moved my tank from my room to our basement but I can't see how that would affect anything.

So now the suction has to fight gravity and pull the water upstairs from your basement. Do you have a sink in the basement that you can hook the python to?

Maybe you don't have enough water pressure at the faucet. With one of my sinks I had to turn both hot and cold water on to get enough water pressure to start the vacuum. I've found it also helps to remove the aerator at the end of the faucet.

I had to change one of the washers for mine. It wasn't creating a good enough seal.
