when you turn it off it glows green. i have this and im not sure if the after glow is bad for the turtle. i doubt it is,but is it? it probably stays green for 10-15 minutes, and stays very little green a while after that. does anyone use this?

Really, do you think they'd make something that would hurt your hardy turtles? No, the lamp is made for that and it's perfectly normal.

I have no idea, but if your umcomfortable with it then just get a different one. Do your turtles act weird or anything odd?? I read this about Specialty lights

http://redearslider.com/index_lighting_basking.html

It made me worry so I just bought a light bulb which gives off 8.0 UVB and I use a regular incandescent light bulb as a heat source.

Their site says.....

The Exo Terra Glow Light is a day light and night glow fixture in one. The inside of the reflector is coated with a highly reflective, luminous coating that continues to glow after the lamp is turned off. Sturdily constructed, with a metal reflector; heat-resistant 150 watt ceramic socket; and a spring-loaded swivel head clamp. Ideal for use with all types of incandescent bulbs or ceramic heat emitters. On/Off Switch included.

Seems it was made to do that. Maybe you should read the product packaging a little better next time.

I have one of these for each of my enclosures. They're fine.
