I recently got a python, i know you guys are thinking 'not another python post' ... but i was wondering .. how long have you guys had yours for... and do they still work as good as the 1st day you got them? I've done 2 complete water changes with mine, and it's AWESOME!!!!!!! I was just wondering if I'm going to expect some leakage/etc down the road, since I know those plastic fittings wont hold up too long... but who knows, maybe they make a hell of a product.

I've had mine over 2 years and it still works great. I haven't had to replace any parts.

I've had mine for over a year and have had to replace the part that attaches to the faucet. It cracked. Luckily it is the same part that is used for waterbeds so we had an extra one but it was blue instead of green. We also had to replace the white plastic adapter ring that screws into the faucet. It strips easily. We replaced it with a brass one which is much nicer to use.

Spookster, just an FYI, the new ones come with the brass fittings, so you don't even have to worry about that! I know that when I purchased mine I almost picked up a brass adapter that day, then I realized that it was already in the package.

I think the brass fittings have been around for awhile. I got a python in the fall of 2003 and it came with a brass adapter (and a note saying that the adapter had been changed to brass).
