So i have a baby banana plant that has little little bananas that still have the skin on them, should i take them out or what? I was thinking about burying them when/if i decide to get that sand... Marisa - what do you think of the sand that beast talked about? I like the look. and it'd give a substrate for plants to live in..
Bannanna plants are fine for a turtle, and in my experience it take them a little longer to vandalize than most others. If you are looking for plants for your turtle to eat anachris seems to be one of the universal favorates, but also one of the messiest. if you are looking for durable plants Hornwart, Java fern, and amazon swords tend to be the longer living. but regardless being stuck in a tank for most of the day with only a plant to rip up narrows down the options of what your turtle will do.aka a losing battle but a fun experience for the shell back.
I tend to agree about the Amazon sword plants and any of the "warts" (Hornwart, Moneywart, etc.)--my turtles never ate them but loved to rip them up so they could clog up the filters.
