I have a 50 gal. tank, which ill be using to keep RES, but im kinda stuck on which canister filter to use, right now im between the EHEIM Ecco Canister Filter-2234, the Rena FilStar External Canister Filter-Xp3 and the Fluval External Canister Filter-205. Can anyone tell me which is the best one?. Im looking for something thats good in performance and that is EXTREMLY quiet, since the tank will go in my room. Thanks in Advance.

XP3 (I've never used the others but I do love my XP3 because it works and it's easy to maintain).

Who makes the XP3 we are going to have to move to our 75 gallon at some point and I was wondering what kind to get for it.
I have 5 RES, 2 ASN, and 1 DBT

This is some info on the XP3
"Multi-stage, bypass-free system is highly efficient and versatile. Bypass- free: ensures complete water flow through the filter media. Disposable filtration pouches for easy clean-up. Multi-use filtration baskets with handles for easy maintenance. Built in handles for easy carrying of filter during maintenance. Easily accessible impeller. 350 GPH Flow Rate. Recommended for aquariums up to 175 gallons in size."

So the xp3 would be fine a 75 gallon and a 50 gallon.

It's a Rena Filstar XP3. You can get it most anywhere that sells fish supplies - Petsmart, Petco, Big Al's Online. You get a big price break by shopping around and buying online.

They are so quiet you can't tell they're running! What would make noise is if you selected the option to have your output tube above the surface of the water to create sort of a waterfall effect. If, on the other hand, you opt to have the output below the surface, then it wouldn't make any noise at all.

They are very quiet, especially if the splash bar is underwater.

there is the rena filstar xp lines at petsmart.com and petco.com you should be able to get them in the store for the same price...
there has been some discussion on whether or not these stores will price match with their own websites.
