Hey, I just got one quick question. You can never have enough filtration, and I have a small hang on filter that I can use in addition to my current filter. It was lightly used for fish so my question is, do I need to use a different bio bag or can I just rinse the filter and the bio bag and start using it? Thanks.

If you can easily take it apart for cleaning, then give it a good scrubbing with a 10% bleach solution or peroxide (use an old toothbrush for the tight spots). Then rinse very well and replace the bio-bag with a fresh one.

Thanks for the suggestions. I got it running in the sink and rinsed it out good, then put it on the side of the tank and discovered that I would need to raise the water level about three inches, so I am not going to use it. I just rinsed and hooked up the sunken ship air bubbler my brother gave me though. It came with a thin tube to attach to the other half of the ship but its more trouble than its worth getting together so only one half is making bubbles.
