Hmm, could be that they're caught up in the international regulations. I know that recently an Italian aquarium pump manufacturer had a major recall on two of their models because of electrical failure resulting in people getting electrocuted (my pumps were included in that recall). Could be that the US is cracking down on European electrical pet product manufacturers? :?

I'd be a little leery of a bulb that wasn't "proven" through testing and that hasn't stood the test of time. Sometimes, experimenting with new products is good, but MVB bulbs to me isn't one of them.

That's true. Personally I would wait until the bulb has been available and in use in the market for at least a year before I'd buy one.
