StarChick, your life is not defined by your job. It's defined by your turtles! :D

Lab coats make you look like you know what you're doing, especially if you walk around with a clipboard and scribble on it once in a while....for added effect get a pocket protector and a bunch of pens and pencils to put in it. Then you'll REALLY look important!

Also Starchick, you are one of the few Americans left who actually makes a living CREATING something using your hands. Thats got to count for something!

Lol yeah, that's the sad part, I can't think of any job I'd like better! It's the only job I've ever had, I started a week out of high school, stayed there through two colleges, and just stayed there after graduation rather than going out and actually getting a job in my field. Although my field was photography so I guess it wouldn't be that different. But I agree about the lab coat, maybe if I wore one in the frame shop the customers would be nicer to me!

Neat! Oddly enough, I am probably heading in a similar direction to your work. I am leaning toward pathology right now, and my deepest interest is to work for the CDC at some point in my life. You may think your job has boring moments, but the interesting moments have to transcend the ordinary scope of work related triumphs.

Try enviornmental conservation focusing on herpetology. Turtles need advocates working for them in the field, and it would be a very fun job if you enjoy slogging around in wetlands! (I do.)

All research and investigation is data driven, so although boring and mundane at times, sooner or later there is a data "convergence" when all you have done comes sharply into focus. THATS rewarding.
Wading into a shallow and garbage choked rail road culvert to drag a "slightly confused" common snapper out and taking him upland to a much nicer pool with some new snapper friends even though he behaves like he doesn't want to go with you (can't imagine why) is also very rewarding, and sometimes fun. :)

Pathology crosses through a lot of disciplines in the medical field. Very high demand occupation. I'm sure there is big bucks in it.
