Ok I've taken a closer look at the site. I still wouldn't recommend ordering turtles from them, as I still think they're related to the previously banned site.

Their 'habitat' section leaves much to be desired, as the largest available tank is a 20gal. Most of their turtle 'kits' consist of the lagoon (death bowl) and various supplies. They seem to know about the lighting requirements and such. Their care sheet also leaves much to the imagination. Personally, I'd steer clear.

What really bothers me is their buy one, get 2 free offer. They offer this without mentioning the many complications/expenses that will arise with multiple turtles.

Turtie, this was in no way directed towards you. Sometimes people have to buy from such places because of shipping restrictions. If I were you I'd have likely done the same.

I agree, you are right in that the habitats are very shotty. I assume they have an overabundance of RES like most dealers local to me do. Not the most humane practices

PROBLEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just got an email:

Dear XXXX,

Our records indicate that you recently placed an order with us here
at turtleshack [not reputable].com. While processing your order we realized that the
shipping information necessitates an international shipment. According to my
records you elected Best Way for Dry Goods in the US. The charge for this
option was $6.95. According to the shipping quote obtained this morning with
your postal code the actual shipping charges are $152.00. The difference
owed is $145.05. In order for your shipment to depart these charges must be
remedied. If you wish to cancel this order please respond back to this email
so that I can forward the invoice on to the proper individual.

Warm Regards,
turtleshack [not reputable].com Team Member
Tori Andrews

but the shipping calculator says 6$ !!!! 150$?? no way......

Starting all over again.............. can you reccomend me another store? :( :(

I was thinking there was no way an international shipping of a parcel over a foot square and weighing at least a pound would be that cheap lol, sorry should have said something. But even though this site has irresponsible practices you can't blaim the site for that. All shipping calculators are just widgets that operate off the shipping companies site. So Fedex or UPS is to blaim for that one. I am sure that Tori there really didn't want to send that Email this morning lol, Can you not find anything on Ebay? You can buy them brand new on there for pretty cheap and it will say right on the front page whether its international shipping or not
