Do you think that this would be a good heater? My tank is 20 gallon but i am planning to upgrade really soon. Also, if you go all the way to the bottom on the ebay page look at the picture. Is it one of the newer heaters? Does it look in good condition??

That all depends on the size of your tank. The steath heaters are awesome though.

a 50 gallon rubbermaid, i could always set the temp lower so it only heats up to 78 degrees though.

I'd say go for the bigger one, it's not way too much for 50 gallons of water, and the thermostats on the steath heaters are pretty good in my experience.

i use that same heater in my 55 gal tank. i have it filled about 3/4 of the way and the heater keeps the temp perfect
