Hey guys,

Was doing a water change and filter cleaning...and i'm having some issues now.

I placed the filter cartridges inside the filter as usual, facing the correct way. I put the top on, but the snaps don't seem to be "clicking" as firmly as I remember. They click on abit, but they can jiggle around and come undone pretty easily.

Noticed this but since I couldn't make them any tighter, figured it was just my imagination. Primed it - and plugged it in...then the leaking began. Coming from the top of the filter around the edges, just pours out.

Hope it didn't damage the carpet...landlord won't be happy! :P

Any idea how to make these fit more snug? I've done it a zillion times...but..this is just odd.

Any ideas guys?

If the clamps don't seem to be clicking on as usual, it sound like the baskets aren't seated right and the lid can't be closed securely. Getting the baskets to sit exactly on top of one another was sometimes a problem for me.

Also check the O-ring/gasket around the lid. Is it evenly in the groove on all sides and corners?

Thanks!

I totally forgot there was a rubber O-ring, probably because its never come off before. Guess I didnt notice, since once I read what you said..looked under my turtles stand and there it was!

Works perfect again, no leaks, no nothing!

Whew, I was worried i'd have to get a new one - definitely not in the budget right now! One exo-terra bulb fixtures died on me, as well as one of my MVB bulbs! Both of those aint cheap!

Well, at least that's one worry you don't have. :D
