Equipment Review and Discussion :: do i need a heater in a warm country like thailand?

hello!
i just got a turtle about a week ago now and i live in the tropics of thailand...now...on the basic care thingy it says you need a heater for the water .. but i was wondering.. do i realy need one in a warm place like here?
i hope someone can answer my question

Do you have a thermometer in your tank to keep an eye on the water temps? The temperatures should stay rather consistent. If that's the case then you'd not need a heater. You might have to think about options on keeping the water cool if it gets overheated though. You should keep the temp in the mid-hi 70s depending on the size/age of your turtle.

hmmm.. i dont have a thermometer but i am probably going to buy a bigger tank for my RES first.. the one she is in now is way to small and i feel so sory for her...
