Hello!

So my fluval 106 has an incredibly weak flow even when the valve is open all the way (when I lower the valve it practically stops). This has been going on for about two weeks, and I've taken it apart & cleaned it a few times in the past two weeks trying different things hoping it would work. I've cleaned out the hoses and replaced the media.

Any suggestions? My next step was going to be to totally replace the hoses even though I'm pretty sure shaking them out for 30 minutes should have emptied them.

thanks in advance!!! Sooo frustrated!

Did you check and clean the impeller? If you put hot water in your hoses and shake them around a bit that should clean them out pretty good. I don't think replacing them is necessary.

No, that's one thing I haven't done. I mean, I took the cover off and rinsed it, but I didn't actually take the propeller OUT. I'm watching a video now on youtube about how to clean it, and I guess you are supposed to take it out.

I'll try it when I get home from work! Thank you!

The 106 is not very strong to begin with. How long have you had it?

I was wondering how strong it was myself Steve but I figured if solarae was noticing a difference there might be something wrong. I get your point Maybe it is just old and tired.

You're right, I guess I've never been impressed by them.
