When i got a new tank
I made Tito an above basking spot

The temp is 93
I put rocks in there fake leaves stuff to make him feel comfortable

I had the fish breeder thing
Which had 2 plastic things that basicly hold a net toghetr to put fish in

Well i cut the the net so it fits exactly in the frame

all in all
It like a net ramp
With a plastic from

He can go on the dock
Ive bribed him with food to reach the dock
He went on it
Took the pellet
And jumped off abviosuly to eat it

But he will never go on it

Its been like 2 weeks

Im getting scared he might get shell problems

Are you sure he's not using it when you're not around?

Can you put some calcium dust or something on the dock to see if he uses it when you're not around? If he goes up there you'll know cause the it'll leave tracks in the dust.

Can he climb up to the basking area easily?

Yes he can climb on top

I tested it with a pellet

I lured him to the basking spot with the pellet
And he got there very easily
No extra work or anything

Also David i did what you told me
I put some of the power and he didnt go on it
I was gone all day
and no feet marks or missing powder

Definently he didnt go on it

Perhaps 93F is a little too warm for him. Can you lower it 2-3 degrees?

What's the water temp? How much does it differ from the basking area temp (should be about a 10-degree difference)?

The net ramp you said you made... Is the net just for traction over another surface, or does he have to climb up a net that's the actual ramp? Perhaps he doesn't like the net.

The water is 79 degrees
I will lower the temp

The net is like a ramp gowing going 35 degrees reaching to the basking area

Does it sag at all when he's on it? I'd consider making a different ramp, one that's more solid.

Are the holes about the same as those on a tennis racket? If so, if he's really small, his feet could maybe slip through or get caught in them. To me, it sounds like an uncomfortable surface to repeatedly climb on. Trying something else would be good.

That's good to hear. But make sure those rocks don't shift. And make sure there's enough dry area on the basking area so he can fully dry off. Getting a dock that is meant for easy access to the basking area isn't possible?
