Gorgeous tank. I can't quite scale the rocks because the tank is so large, but are you sure your turtle can't eat them? You've set up such a nice habitat that it would be a shame if your turtle became compacted because it ingested rocks.

turtles are only 1 1/2" to 2" rocks are big enough for now mostly all river rock 1/8th to a little more than 1/2" in diamiter all bigger than the turtles head wiil have to change wen they get a little larger i guess

Wow, that's a huge tank for such little guys-- lucky them, and good planning on your part :-)

Yeah, it's best not to tempt them with rocks that they can eat... better safe than sorry. I just didn't know if it would make your life easier to remove them early on rather than after the turtles adjusted to their new palace of a tank.

Awesome setup! Those are nice pieces of wood/rock (?) decorations too. The dual basking areas is a nice touch especially as the turtles get older. Those turtles are really nice looking too.

I STILL WORRY FOR THOSE ROCKS, the set up is nice very nice i like it , but. I see a lot of small rocks hope you right about the size

going to have a removable clear plexiglass front--trying to decide on what type of background to use. any suggestions? would love to hear some. wanted to do a little more today. but i have to take my kids to great adventure this afternoon. i couldn't break my promise.-I will resume tomorrow on my great adventure. My Above Tank Basking area's

Those rocks look like they are too small to be in there with the turt. Otherwise, it looks beautiful.

the rocks look small because of size of tank. all river rocks are bigger than the turtle can consume. when turtle gets a little bigger i will up grade my river rock to a larger size, when i purchased the river rock thats all the place had in stock it was big enough for my turtle size now so i said what the heck! ill will up grade in a couple of months or so . i hate the way clear bottom tanks look . it just not natural. im sure turtles dont have clear bottom lakes or ponds in the wild.so i dont know if you read my post on a gravel vacume! thats why i bought that thing . i don't mind all the extra work of keeping a river rock bottom . thats the fun of it . every one seems like they want to keep there turtles with the least amount of work. To keep them in a enviorment as close to nature takes nothing but work thats where the real dedication comes in . the true love of the hobby . i take a lot of pride in my tank as im sure you all do as well . i just became the nut who will go the extra 200%. right now . TALK ABOUT GETTING HOOKED , what other normal person would spend a small fortune on two 1"1/2 turtles.so i appreciate all the concern about the gravel! but i read every thing on this site about the basics. IM no expert by far, but i spared no expense on tanks, equipment, books, IM only a turtle owner for a couple of months. this was the last thing i expected for things to ever get this far! so lets see what the future will hold . maby some tree frogs-some bearded dragons- hell maybe even an exotic pet shop in the future! i have to do somthing when i retire :shock:

here is a small update on
basking top, alot more work then expected!

basic frame

added front 2 side pannel

added front top wood support for a removable 1/4 inch plexi glass . top part of window front is removable . plexi glass will be attached and lift up as one unit. i will get better pis when i get further along. waiting on plexi glass had to order cut to size. added some moulding alot of finish work ahead! will post more pics as it comes further along.
