My guys go anywhere from 15 minutes a day to several hours. Napoleon often goes up to bask around 6 or 7 pm and stays up there until the lights turn off at 11, and lately has been spending the night up there.

I was wondering because Turbo basked from 2 pm untill 5pm with no break, then from 5pm to 6:45pm with breaks. Just making sure this was normal.

Yeah i've had Mr. Turtle for over 18 years, and he's had every basking schedule you could come up with over the years. Each turtle is different, and even the same turtle can change his pattern.

I just have to add, as I was typing this I looked over and noticed that Mr. Turtle has balanced his belly on a long, skinny rock, all but one leg is up in the air, and he's staring at me from across the room like "what are you saying about me?"

It totally depends on the turtle. Some days, I can't get Sheba off the dock & she will sit there for 8 hours straight (!). Other days, she just sits in the water the whole day. It just depends. I leave the light on for a minimum of 12 hours a day (usually closer to 14 hours because of when I leave the house in the AM vs. when I come home at night).

Yep, Sometimes Roka will bask the entire day, other times he'll bask every 15 min for 5 min or so and some days he doesn't even bask at all.

But if your turtle is just sitting on his dock for days on end, there's a problem.

The only pic I have right now is the avatar one that you see on all my posts. That was about a year ago. I'm going to take some more pics of him and his new setup as soon as I get my camera fixed or get a new one. :)

It varies pretty much by the temp and right now the weather (they're outside), although Tilly my RES is a basking fool and was on his corkbark in the rain yesterday.
