i know i need a uvb and uva, but what i want to know is how many watts for each bulb and how close it should be to the basking dock? also i already have a couple of stands so i need is the bulb so please let me know what name brands are are good cause i heard some lights hurt the turtles eyes, i need bulb, i dont know what you call them but i dont need the stick lookin bulbs lol

i just found a light bulb that says simulates natural sun light is it good to use this instead a seprate light for uvb and uva?

If it doesn't say UVB on it, then it doesn't have it in it. As far as I know, the only bulbs that provide both UVA and UVB are called mercury bulbs (I'm almost positive that's what they're called).

yeah thx it didnt say anything about having uvb so im not gettin that, but i found one that does have uvb, but its blue is that normal? and does a reptisun fit into a regular socket?

They make reptisuns that fit into regular sockets as well as ones that are a standard tube style. The 5.0 is good, the 10.0 has caused some eye problems in turtles. They do give off a slightly bluish light, but the bulb itself isn't blue.

reptisuns do fit in regular sockets (not the tube lights of course, but the compact ones). And are you saying the UVB bulb gives off blue light? If so, that means the bulb is tinted. All the ones I've seen have been normal looking.
