Well you know you got a very healthy lady there, Camee! :D Definitely something to be proud of! Now that she's experienced and knows what to do this should go a lot smoother in the future, thank goodness for that, right? ;) That is so neat the way they are able to dig a roomy cavity in the ground for the eggs with a nice rounded hole to drop them in. I would really like to see how they do that some day. Maybe I'll get the chance if/when my girl has to do her thing. lol! :D

David and Kristin...:) Thanks and YES I hope she is empty now too!

It is soooo cool when they dig the hole David! She was so meticulous....she digs the exact same depth as her back legs, then cleans out the loose soil, then takes her time and pats the soil down one leg then the other for a WHILE...then she lays. So, when one leg goes in and then the other really fast, I know it is about TIME now. And the hole is so PERFECT! It looks small from the top but she uses the wideness of her feet to scrape out sides of the bottom of the hole; which is cool and I think the size of that depends on how many eggs she knows she will have. It was smaller last time and this time it was much larger in the bottom and she dug and patted around more meticulously before laying.

Hubby was the one telling me she was gonna lay a bunch! lol He could just "tell". I was like "I think 1 or 2 tops"...was I wrong!!! lol

Oh, yes David, you will get your chance..hehe and from my experience...wait until she looks like she is flat going nutso in her tank before taking her out to lay. Other wise we let her walk the house to let out some energy. But until she is almost "frantic" she didnt lay. So now I can tell and she has done it both times now in about an hour start to finish each time! :)

She is one tired gal today. Basking and eating like a HOG! But WE are happy!

Very nice pics. Your RES sounds like she's got an egg factory inside her. :D

Wow, that does sound fascinating! I'm actually kind of excited to see my girl go into action someday. And her eggs may actually be fertile since I also have the two males with her. :? I think if she does ever lay eggs I may try to incubate one of them like BumbysMom did so i can actually see what it's like to have a baby RES (and I will definitely keep it too :D ).

meandmyturtles- Tobi is 4 1/2 years old and she is 10" long and about 7.5" wide..shell only. She is a BIG girl! The signs she has shown is loss of appetite, and she was very very agitated in her tank, trying to get out any way she could, and she would swim so frantically she would hit the sides of the tank constantly! It was CRAZY!

Marisa- Thank You. And, lol I hope the factory is CLOSED!

David- Yes it is exciting and it would be cool also to actually have a baby and try to incubate and stuff. But Im glad I dont...hehe...have too many pets as is. And its tough enough with a helpless little one to look out for. But good on ya mate! You will probably do it very well!! :)
