This morning I wake up to find that a side of my 15 gallon aquarium has burst! :shock:

My turtle was still in the aquarium but my room was flooded. After about 3 hours of cleaning I got my room dry again and everthing that was in the tank into a sink. My poor little turtle in going to have to live in a TINY 2.5 gallon aquarium until I can get a new aquarium or fix the old one. :cry:

Can anyone give me some suggestions on how to fix the old one, the glass remained intact but all the silicon is blown to pieces and I can't get any new silcon until next friday.

P.S. If your aquarium is in your room pick up all your electronics up off your floor (my PSP was in the direct line of the water

)

A 15 gallon is not worth fixing. Go pick up a rubbermaid storage container (I've found similar ones up to 60 gallons).

A small tube of aquarium silicone might cost about $5... but if there are any cracks of any size, then its time to replace it.

a new 10 gallon tank probably costs little more than a thing of silcon.. here 10 gallon tanks are like 10 bucks or so.

WOW

! A ten gallon tank here cost 50$. I decided to get a 20 gallon rubbermaid cause it was the biggest one I could find. The suction cups on my dock don't seem to be sticking to it though, I put some tape on the ones above water to hold it in place.

I got another question for you experts. How can I get my fake plants to stay under water without having rocks in my aquarium??

Wow, $50 really? Where are you? Big tanks must be insanely expensive there! About the plants, you can use suction cups, but that wouldn't work too well in a rubbermaid i guess. I hot glued river rocks into the base of my plant to hold it down.

thanks I'll have to try gluing the rocks. I live in New Brunswick and yes big tanks are insanly expensive, I'm getting a 55 gallon for christmas and It's going to cost 350$ for the tank alone.

Whoa, thats not New Brunswick NJ, is it? Cause if it is, I would definitely go to www.glasscages.com . They sell 55 gallons for $80.00 bucks, and a small handling fee will probably push it a little over $100.00!!! And they deliver it right to Allentown, PA. This is definitely something you should look into. For $350.00 dollars you could get a 125 gallon all glass aquarium!!!!! Of course you have to get it from Allentown, PA to your house, but it is with it!!! I got my 240 gallon tank from them.

Sadly no it's not New Brunswick NJ, It's New Brunswick Canada. Sounds like they have some great deals on that site.

Wish i could take advantage of some of them. I"m only young so my parents are still bossing me around and they said I wasn't allowed to order anything off the computer.

look into prices from towns that are less than an hour away, maybe you could find tanks at a decent price and take the drive and get them. 55 gallons are like 135 or so here (dunno exact price)

Also keep an eye out for sales on used tanks. Those can be MUCH cheaper than new ones.
