Habitat - Indoor :: Heater too strong?

Okay, crappy circumstances. I was supposed to head out to Michael's place about 2 hours ago. I got home from work and decided to do a quick water change in Moxie's tank because it was looking a little icky. I drained the tank a little more than halfway, dumped it out, and went to refill the bucket and....nothing came out of the faucet. Turns out they're replacing our hot water heater, so I have absolutely no water. Once I leave, I'm going to be gone until Monday morning.

I figure there's probably about 7-8 gallons of water in the tank right now, and I'm using a 100 watt visitherm stealth heater. If I leave that on while I'm gone, is it going to overheat the water? If so, I pretty much have to either sit here until they're done or go out and buy some jugs.

Good to know! Luckily the water came back on right after I posted, but there was no hot water, so I had to microwave it 2 cups at a time in my little pyrex measuring cup! At least it worked out and I wasn't stuck there all night.

Haha I don't even know, probably like a half hour. I figured out that it took about 30 seconds to get the water to 76 degrees, so I was filling the cup and starting the microwave, then running all over the apartment trying to get my stuff packed to go then running back to dump it into the bucket and refill it. Definitely a big pain in the butt.

Most heaters reach the desired temperature and turn off, so you should be fine.

Wow, I guess I'm lucky, the coldest my water gets is 78 degrees. How big is your tank?
