I have purchased a Very large 110 Gallon stock tank from Tractor Supply for 63.00 including tax. I had to walk threw knee high snow too get it but I think Rexi will appreciate it. We then went too the home depot and got some plexi and some tiles which will make the basking area. At Pet Smart I bought a hydor theo heater rated at 400 watts so I think it will do the trick. I have yet to decide the specific design of the basking area. Struggling with wanting to build it in the tank or on top of it will decide that later on. Coupled with what I already own (UVA, UVB Bulbs, and Rena XP3) it should make a AWESOME home.

Hehe, knee high snow. That sounds like a story you should tell your kids when they're complaining about taking care of their pets!

No kids as of yet, but you never know it could be a pet too pass down threw the years. I need to decide if I want to put it in the Dining area on a tile floor or in the living room where the carpet is.

I have the basking area planned out and a templet made. It is going to sit on top of the tank on the rim to allow for the most swimming area. It is going to be roughly 33 inches long and 10 inches wide in the center. Pictures will come soon when I start working on the final piece for the plexi glass. I also bought Hydor Ario Color 4 Aerator Underwater LED lights a 4 light set (Green) to light the water. They are suppose to Aerate the water at the same time is it lighting.

I know there are potential problems with adding more turtles too a tank but what if the tank is 110 gallons? and what if you add them too the tank at the same time? I know there is no actual reason to give a RES and friend in the tank, but I figured it would be nice since she wont be able to look out at us any more.

No matter how or when you introduce two turtles, there's always a good chance that they will fight, at least when we're talking about RES. Space isn't even always the spurring factor- sometimes they just want the whole tank to themselves and they'd be willing to kill a tank mate to prove it.

I'd stick with one, unless you don't mind having a second stock tank if things don't work out with the new guy.

I know the design of the ramp is strange but it was the only way we could make it out of one piece and still cut the 4 foot long back splash and keep the ramp and basking area 1 piece.
