I was curious to see if anyone was familiar with this company...

If you check out their rare turtles link http://www.turtlesale [not reputable].com/rare-turtles1.html they have res with no eyes. They play it up to be this great thing, even charging extra for them. I was just thinking that maybe they have a breeding problem on their hands?

I wouldn't call it a breeding problem, just a little complication with the embryo. And it's no suprise they are charging extra, you don't find a turtle with no eyes everyday. I have taken care of a blind turtle once, a texas map. It's so amazing how they find a simple way to eat, swim and get up on that dock :)

And yes, I am familiar with turtlesale [not reputable], I got my rio grande from there :)

I've never heard anything good about that place. Actually, one of the herp sites I frequent has them on their do NOT do service with list I believe. Anyone who sells a turtle with a death bowl is NOT a good place to deal with in my opinion.

I have two turts and I am not looking to add anymore, I was just simply curious about this site. I also thought that their prices seemed a bit high.

That's true sad to say. My parents bought me my rio there with no knowledge they weren't the best. I remember in the old forum when I got so excited about my new rio, and then I heard about thier rep.

Wow did you see that one pic where they had about 6 or 7 baby Res in a lagoon!!!!?? That's horrible! Even with Mikey in his alone he was cramped on movement! And they even put the turtles on their sides or upside down to photograph them...I would never do that to Mikey! Wow..I'm kinda shocked at that place...

I'm glad I got Mikey out of possibly living in a situation like that. Cause I know when I went back to the mall where I got him from, they had completely taken out the place where I had bought him and I just wonder what his fate might have been had I not gotten him out of there.

I wouldn't call that site one of the more reputable ones to buy turtles from.
