General Care Discussion :: What is your say on Pleco's? [those catfish sucking things]

Taking care of your turtle's overall health.

I have a common pleco with my 2 RES (5 months now) and I 've noticed that at first the RES were afraid of it... as the time passes the RES are getting more used to it and they are not afraid of it anymore. I' ve seen the RES fighting the pleco over a spiruliina wafer (pleco was pushing the turtle back with the side fins!! lol) and since the RES are so bold to do that i am not sure what will happen in the future :? ... I made sure the pleco has a place to hide (cave and tight spots). About the algae it does a great job, they take care of the left overs and about the biological waste they add it is nothing compared to the poop my res do or having the left overs "rotting" at the bottom.

Mine's is dead after a little more than a month now...

I came back from campus and it was nowhere to be found. No trace at all.

My little red(s) is turning into a beast.
