General Care Discussion :: White Spots on Shell

So I've searched and all i come up with is turtle rotting or fungus. i dont think its those, its not fuzzy and the shell is hard as ever...i tried a tooth bruth and felt it its not coming off. I thought it might be too much protein so I've cut back on that (shrimps) it seems to be going away since ive cut back. But then again it might just seem so to me cause i really want it to...

so started off as two really white spots at peak of shell....


then it spread not as dark white but more see through...








ALSO...I added 2 new turtles...they are only about 3 months apart but boy the size difference...anyways, 1 of the two is doing just fine running to the front begging for food everytime i come around...the other is ALWAYS hiding...and I basically have to throw food right on top of him and hes usually at the bottom of the tank so hell have to see or smell it i guess...my question is..do i have to continue to baby it? or should i just feed those who come to the food and make the shy one learn??

Looks like he is just starting to shed. Size difference can be a major concern... how big are they?

those two guys with pics are about 2 inches? and the new ones are like 1.5 inches....well to me thats a big difference...i hadn't realized how much they'd grown since i got the first two...but one of the small ones isn't scared at all and is always with them...no biting or anything...i even saw it bite a pellet from out of the big ones mouth....

In the top pic, the yellowing along the vertebral area is normal. Just make sure each is getting their share of food and there is no bullying aggression. It many cases, one is able to out compete all the others.
