General Care Discussion :: Ichigo is eating!!

Taking care of your turtle's overall health.

Post Posted: Sat May 10, 2008 11:30 pm   Ichigo is eating!!

FINALLY today Ichigo started eating! Very little but still an improvement over nothing! We are on day 7 of antibiotics and have 3 more days to go. She nibbled on a few small pieces of romaine lettuce and although I did not witness it, I could tell from the bite marks that she had definitely taken some bites. SO HAPPY! :D
She is getting feistier too.
I was dreading syringe feeding her which is what the vet was suggesting if it continued for much longer.
Thanks for everyone's support!

Even after treatment turtles take a long time to recover and go back to normal activities. It sounds like your on the right track.

Steve, no nothing else. I will keep giving the romaine lettuce since I know she's eaten it and rotate a bunch of other things to see if I can get her to eat more than just that.

Stick to what you are doing, however don't forget the basics. water temp, basking temp, filtration and a clean tank. b.
