Okay, I already know how this is going to come off, but don't take it the wrong way. As long as you are providing the best you can for them, ultimately it is up to the turtle and nature for the turtle to survive. As humans, we sometimes take too much care of animals and humans that "evolution" would otherwise find unsuited for reproduction. Take for example my sweet little cat, I love her and she's my baby, but goodness, if I weren't taking care of her, she wouldn't survive this world! She refuses to eat anything but cat food (like meat table scraps), she certainly would never manage to catch and eat anything (her idea of stalking is sad and she'd rather play with mice than kill them), and she walks into walls ...
So your turtle will take care of itself, get as much basking or swimming as it needs, as long as you provide the best you can. It's okay to be concerned, but not to be so focused on your turtle that you worry about every behavior.
I recommend reading every post you can on here. That way, if you see what behaviors are common and uncommon, you'll be ready for any surprises.
