So earlier..... i noticed my turtle had something rather large in his mouth rushed over to see him trying to eat a thumb tack that fell off of my wall!!
Good thing i noticed or he couldve been seriously injured! I Got the tack out of his mouth but im wondering how the tack got out of the wall!!!!
Anyone else have something like this happen???

I have wax paper covering the bottom of my above tank basking area, and toby has been managing to reach up out of the water and tear pieces off. Apparently he thinks wax paper is a good snack....

Years ago when I once let my RES out to walk around my room, I at one point noticed he was marching around with something sticking out of his mouth. When I looked more closely, I saw that he had a large open safety pin in his mouth, with the pointed end luckily away from him. Not big enough for him to ingest, but big enough for him to poke himself if he somehow got the point closer to him.

For some reason, he did not want to relinquish the pin and I had to carefully twist it to get him to open his mouth and let it go.

Oh my! Someone here (I can't remember who) had one of their turtles swallow a screw while exploring outside! They posted pictures of the x-ray. You'll have to look it up.
Who ever said turtles were slow?

That was my sisters tortoise, Littlefoot. Believe it or not, she still hasn't passed that screw. If it doesn't move soon she may need surgery. Besides that, she seems to be doing well.
