I think the shell looks fine, it's very pretty! Morris is a cute RES!

He's quite beautiful. I don't recall seeing that star shaped pattern on a RES before.

His shell looks healthy to me but he does need to shed. It looks like scutes are lifting somewhat, so maybe he'll shed soon. When he sheds, the edges on the scutes are the margin won't be so sharp, and the scutes won't seem to overlap like they are doing now.

Does he have good UVB to bask under? And does he bask a lot every day? It's important for the health of his shell that he bask a lot under good UVB light (or natural sun). Be sure his diet includes vitamin e containing foods, as vitamin e helps a turtle to shed. Here are some good ones:

Tomato
Sweet potato
Turnip greens
Blueberries
Apple skin

Your turtle looks fine. How is the uvb, basking temps, and calcium in his diet? M.

Morris is a girl hehe...I named her before i knew what she was lol...She has a decent basking light and from what ive seen she basks alot. she has a cuttlebone floating around in the tank now which she loves. lol fat turtle hehe I will try to add more vitamin e...ive tried blueberries which she really doesnt like she just kinda threw em around for a bit then spat them out but i will try the potatoe!

She has some very pretty patterns. Nice looking turtle Mandyb!

It's one of those blue heat bulbs....but im going to start using a regular bulb. Didnt relize u cud and i was buying these expensive ones they are like 12$ each and about once a month they die. And its a 60 watt...should i go higher?

Is that a heat (UVA) and UVB combo? It looks like it might just be UVA, if so they need UVB too.

I have a seperate UVB bulb. Its just a heat bulb.
