Hi, I adopted a 6" female res this morning. She has spent most of her life passed from one home to another(my pets are for life). The home I got her from did not know her age, I would like too know approximtly how old she is too ensure she has the proper diet.
The food that came with her is HBH Turtle bites and freeze dried shrimp. They fed her 2-3 shrimp a day and "lots" of the bites. That seems like too much too me... Any ideas on how much a six inch res should be eating? All I have found on feeding is per age.
The last 2 homes did not use uvb lighting just the basking light, so a uvb light and fixture are on my shopping list tomorrow.
Currently she is in my 50gal fish tank, too small I know, the arrangments too get her was to trade my 50gal for their 75gal. Once I arrived the tank they had her in is clearly a 40gal long. So I took my tank back home. I have seen the enclosers where a second level is build on top. I think that should keep her happy until I can get her a bigger encloser.
