Looks good. Your turtles won't nibble on the artificial plants.. at least most don't.

and a word of caution about the mag float and sand. Make sure that when using the mag float, you do not get even a tiny grain of sand stuck in between the two pieces. then when you clean the tank, that one little grain will scratch the crap out of your tank.

I don't use mag floats for this reason. I use a Kent ProScraper. http://www.drsfostersmith.com/Product/P ... catid=4072
I use C in the picture. works great and is completely safe. the blades are replaceable too.

I'll have to pick one of those up. I usually stay atleast 2" above the sand line when I'm cleaning to avoid scratching. Thanks for the feedback!

never thought of turning the filter intake up like that. my question is does it do a good job of pulling things that float lower than it? currently having some issues with sand and my intake even though its probably 5in above because of kicked up sand.

Looks great! I love that basking area. You said it's custom, did you make it?

Sorry for the late replies. There was a baby shower and a move in between there and now.

The filter does do a good job of pulling in items floating below it. I have never used a canister filter before but it seems to be working great like this. This one is a Cascade 1200. Alot cheaper than Fluval or Eheim/ I haven't used either of them but this one gets the job done.

The driftwood dock is custom, I drilled holes in the wood and then tacked it together using wood screws.

Thanks for all the feedback.
