i have a46 gal tall tank and one res bout two and half years old with a 75 gal penguin filter plus three bubble stones. I was wondering how often i should change water it never smells and is always clear.... oh ive got four rosie reds that clean up after vito too. The water evaporates quickly so im always adding fresh water every two or thee days

i usually change the water about once a month since im always adding new water due to evaporation. i would say just do a partial change and clean the filter about once a month

I agree with Daniel, you want to change out around 25% of the water once a month, add water as it evaporates, and clean the filter once every month. Other than that, you only need to really clean out the tank when it's needed, or if you want once per year.
