Turtle tank setups and other indoor configurations.

ok I keep on buying these heat bulbs because they keep on blowing, I started out with a started kit tank then got a bigger one. But I also kept that small thing to screw the bulbs in, and now rather than using 50w bulbs I use 150. Should I get the bigger lamp (the black thing that you screw the bulbs in) should I get a bigger one cuz my bulbs keep blowing.

And how many hours a day should I keep the heat bulb on for?

i think you may be using a bulb that is rated higher than the lamp. it would probably be better to just get a couple clamp lamps to put over the basking area. one for the heat bulb and one for the uvb

the bulbs should be on 12 hours a day to mimic real life.

How far away from your turtle is the 150-watt light? What's the basking area temp?

Or, if you really wanted to be natural, you could look up the sunrise, and sunset times for the day. (But even then, when it is sunrise, the sun isnt shining very bright.

For heat, I use an indoor/outdoor flood light. 65 watts.

The "outdoorness" of it makes it so that any splashed water wont shatter it. It keeps the basking area at 88 Fahrenheit.

I use reptiglo 5.0 26 watts. It provides a small amount of heat also.
