Habitat - Indoor :: 1st. Tank Setup and Pond Remodel Lot's of Pic's

Spec's

Tank- 55 Gallon with plaster background, Home-Made Dock, Home-Made Filter and Extra 75 Gallon rated filter. 1-RES and 1 YBS.

Pond- 500ish gallon Koi pond. Used to be approx. 250 Approx. 15 fish 8+ " Shubunkin, Koi, and 2 7" Ryukin, some comet's and feeder's. Cyprio BioForce 500+UV, Canister filter with BIOballs, and 3 filter layer's, UV Sterilizer.

Secondary Rubbermaid is 65 gallon with a large basking area filled with sand. This habitat is for nice summer day's not sleepover's or hibernation. ( small water area my goal was to get them to bask as much as possible vs. swimming ) I have not put the Plexi-Glass border in yet but it is purchased and planned it will enclose the entire area approx. 24" high with a tree limb top.

Yes, There will be a 2' plexiglass along the walkway on the pond side. which will fully encompass the entire area.

The furniture you're using to hold your 55 gallon is not good enough. You'll need a stand that run the entire length of the tank, or else that unsupported end is under immense stress.

Water is pretty heavy, as well. Make sure your stand can hold at least 500 pounds of dead weight. Try to use furniture that will spread the weight over your floor as much as possible. This should take the 4-legged tables out of the picture. The hardest thing on your floor is holding so much weight in such a small area for a long time. The last thing you want is 40-50 gallons of water on your floor, or an injured turtle.

Wow! Your Outdoor set up is beautiful, functional and I bet your little buddies are very happy out there on a sunny day. My old girl has never been a big fan of the outdoors, I have brought her out many times, but she always beelines back into the house. She enjoys her home in the sunroom tremendously though!

The Stand Actually has 8 leg's and is designed to hold very large Plasma Screen's I am going to see what i can do with the 1" overhang though.
