Taking care of your turtle's overall health.

Ok, the more I read on here the more I kind of want to test the water in Monkies tank just to see what is doing what. How would I go about testing the PH, nitrates and whatever else I need to test?

Monkey is a pretty happy turtle, she swims around and does turtle stuff, I fill the bath tub up and put her in there when I do tank cleanings, on nice sunny days I let her run around the back yard, she loves her turtle kibble and a baby carrot every now and then, I am getting her used to being handled, and I'm pretty sure that if she could bark she would have a "woof off" with my blue heeler. Overall for a $14 Pets-Co-Mart RES she is a big happy turtle I just want to see if there is anything that I can do to make her happier.

She is much larger now than she was in these pics.

You can buy water test kits at any pet store, there are dip strip ones and ones that you can add drops to. I prefer the strip ones, they're the easiest to deal with.

You can take the water to petsmart or petco( I think) and get it tested for free .
Please excuse any spelling and/or grammatical errors. I'm dyslexic.I do my best!
