My turtle tank is made of glass and is sitting a meter away from where I work. It shines inside the tank. Will the UVB affect me in the long run? Will long term exposure to it cause me to tan or damage my skin (skin cancer)?
It will do nothing. The only light you get is through the glass. That filters out most of it or all of its rays. Thats why there susposed to be nothing between the light and area the turtles are in.
Even then the light you use for the turtle isnt even close to the suns strength.
