The mother's tail looks spiky. Is it supposed to look like that or am I seeing something?

Thanks Azfar,
Yes all turtles and tortoises are born with yolk sacks. They actually eat it after the yolk is absorbed.

Well technically no turtle is susposed to hatch like. If it does it means they hatched a little to early caused by somthing. incubating at to cool of temperatures, spike incubation temperature or to much water added in incubator.

I leave the eggs where there laid and mist the area. Caused an egg on top to hatch early a couple days and had yolk sac still attached. While eggs under it hatched latter with no yolk sacs.

Heres a mistake on my part. I left the lid open and cat got in and smashed the egg. He lived for 3 days like that before sadly dieing

THanks for the info, Jozzep and Painteds4Life~! :D

Em confuse, you said they eat "it" after the yolk is absorbed. Whats "it" if the yolk has gone?

The "casing" of the yolk ;)
Both turtles ate it after a few days it was absorbed.
