my neighbor found it in his flowerbed and knowing we have a turtle came right to us and offered it. we are keeping it in sheldons old ten gallon with 20 percent filled. sheldons old dock is now the babys new dock but no light, heater, or filter yet but will be soon :) heres pics of the lil cutie!

yes we think so hes about the size of a quarter but not just born. he has no egg tooth oy yolk sac.

Wow! Looks like a pastel! It was probably somebody's pet. Pastels only occur with very high incubation temps, which are unlikely in the wild at this time of year (though not unheard of).

update- we got him/her a heater and filter but no light yet.

no name yet. any suggestions? he/she is very strong for its age and doesnt get frightened when someone comes in the room. its favorite thing to do is to get up on the dock and nap there. even when it wakes up its not scared of anything.

Make sure you get him some shell and skin conditioner, since his shell looks pretty dry! Other than that, he's a cutie! (Or she.. lol, who knows!)

I would skip any conditioner (like Vitashell) and concentrate on giving him a good habitat with appropriate lighting. Once he grows a bit and sheds those rough baby scutes, you should see a real improvement in the shell.

update-we got him a light and his name is officially Petey. like Pete with a "y" on the end.
