Habitat - Indoor :: jerk fish

so i caught this fish in the wild, i think its a baby blue gill
i put it in the turtle tank like 2 months ago
all it does is follow my turtle and be a jerk, im going to feed my turtle and it jumps up and knocks the food out of my hand
i dont like that fish and my turtle wont eat it and i dont want it too bc i dont know if its safe but idk what to do with it
any idea?

ummm.... you could prob release it back into the wild that would be the best thing to do i guess.....

get a small tank for it so its not bothering your turtle or its feeding time

You could catch it, kill it and feed it to your turtle if you wanted it to be turtle food in the first place. Some of my turtles were either too young or too slow to really hunt the minnows, so I killed them myself and hand fed. It got them used to meat, and now they chase after the fish themselves.

You could try and feed your RES outside of the tank. Makes the tank cleaner and avoids the confrontation.

Bluegill are quite an aggressive species of sunfish so I'm not surprised that its being pushy. How big is your turtle and how big is the bluegill? Keep in mind that the fish will grow much faster than the turtle and if its gets too big it will hurt him/her. My suggestion is to keep your eyes open and if you don't like what is happening remove the fish and put it in another 10 gallon tank.

the turtle is 2" and the fish is makybe 2"

I'd go with killing the bluegill and feeding the meat to Myrtle.
