Habitat - Indoor :: Basking dock problem

I purchased this floating dock a few weeks ago...

Up until now, it met my turtle's need for a basking area, but now he keeps pushing it off from the glass (I sweat he knows why he's doing it) every chance he gets. He wobbles right up to the point were the magnet hold the dock from the outside of the glass and begins pushing off by biting, stratching and pushing. Why is he doing this and how can I remedy this?

Because it's fun? Perhaps because the turtle is bored? I don't even know if
turtles can feel bored. Anyhow, you can try putting bubbles or golf balls or ping
pong balls or rocks for the turtle to push around.

Tried ping pong and golfs balls, but none of them are working. He sees me put it back into place, wait 5 minutes, then get on it to push it off the magnets again :S

Have you tried giving cuttlebone for your turtle? It might help.

So... solved my problem. Actually, my turtle did. The little strong bugger was just fung-shwaying its environment. in the top middle of the tank where one end is still on the magnet and is now resting peacefully. Scary how intelligent these creatures are.

My turtle does the same thing with his dock and I think it is boredom. His tank is too small(getting a 100 gallon tomorrow) and I really do think he's bored in it. Hopefully the upgrade will help that!! Question about cuttlebone...Do you just drop it in the tank? Was going to pick one up today but forgot so will go in a couple days to get one but wondered about putting it in there.

You need to remove the hard backing of the cuttlebone first. Then drop the soft
part in the tank. Some turtles prefer head size chunks, so you might want to
experiment with the size.

That dock is awful. I have one, and my poor turtles struggle to get on it. its too stiff or something, it just doesnt go down far enough into the water and the turtle cant get up. i have another 1 in my tank and its the 1 with the suction cups. Although the suction cups need to be replaced often, its the betterof the two.

I like the zoomed turtle docks, but they only work until the turtles reach a certain size. Then they sink it and it's no good because the purpose is for the turtle to get completely out of the water.
