Sounds like algae..its not harmful for the turtle...You can do a water change or get a more powerful filter..

How big is your tank and what kind of filter do you have(if you have one)???

post pics if u can..

My tank was always green, and then I read that you should feed your RES outside of their habitat, in another receptacle. I started feeding mine outside her tank and it stays clear much longer. I also upgraded to a larger filter, one made for a tank 3x the size I have. Those two changes have really helped keep her tank clear longer.

When choosing a filter the standard is 5x the water volume that is in the tank. That is five times in gph. That is an "at least" number and a little more is good.

if it's algae, you can try an octo fish, or pass the water through a UV filter

I keep my pond outside in Florida so the water turns green in about 48 hours unless, I use a product from tetra called algae control. It's safe on the turtles and keeps the water from turning green. If you have algae growing on objects in the tank then this doesn't help, only the water coloration.
